- 1 cup (255g) natural creamy peanut butter
- 3⁄4 cup (180mL) nonfat milk
- 1 large egg (or 1⁄4 cup unsweetened applesauce)
- 2 cups (244g) whole wheat flour (measured correctly)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1⁄3 cup (30g) oats (either whole-rolled or quick oats are fine)
- 2-3 strips cooked bacon, chopped
After you have all of the ingredients, pour it all into one large bowl. This is
the only bowl you’ll need for this recipe. The dough you whip up will be
really, really thick and super hard to form, so be sure to knead it with your
hands for a while.
Roll the dough into 1⁄4” thickness, and if you want to be a little creative, use
cookie cutters to make little bones or hearts or whatever. The size of the
treat should depend on the size of your dog. If you have a really big dog,
then you should make a really big treat; however, if you’re making treats for
a really small dog, then small treats should be suitable.
Spread the shapes of dough onto a baking sheet. In the oven, the treats
don’t spread out, the just puff up very slighty, so it’s okay for them to be
close together. The prep time should take around ten minutes.
Bake one side of the treats in the oven for 18-20 minutes until lightly
browned on the bottom. Remove the sheet from the oven and flip the treats
onto their other side. The rest of the baking should take 10-12 minutes.
After baking, set out the baked goods for cooling. Let them cool completely.
By now your furry friend should be going crazy by the smell–doggie
heaven. When they are completely cooled off, they’re ready for your pup!!
The total time this should take is around 45 minutes, plus cooling. Hope
you enjoying spoiling your puppy!
